Oil Absorbent Pom-Pom:Pom poms are hanks of polypropylene fibres that attract and hold heavy oils, as used in the Exxon Valdez oil spill. Pom poms repel water making them very effective at removing oils from water. Pom Pom are generally used close to the shore line to clean up heavy and viscous hydrocarbons. Snares are used off the shore or on smooth shore lines while Pom Poms are used around rocky areas or where snare might otherwise snag.
