In a recently published book by nutricionist and bestseller author Dr. Michael Perricone, Acai (speak: assa-iih) is described as the plantes most powerful health food item. As it is extremely rich in antioxidants and Omega 3 fats it has cholesterol reducing and anti-aging effects. The antioxidants in the Acai neutralize free oxigene-radicals in the human body and accordingly it is believed to have anti-aging effects and that it reduces cancer risks.
