The blue and white hand-printed cotton is Chinese traditional handicraft with a long history originated in Jiangsu Province. It is an old art form and its elaborate dyeing and printing process is inherited from generation to generation. Nantong is the hometown of blue calico and blue calico is also a name card of Nantong city. China Nantong Blue Calico Art Gallery was found by Mr. Wu Yuanxin, a Chinese Industrial Arts Master in 1997. It is a first Chinese Blue Calico art gallery integrating collecting, exhibiting, studying, producing and marketing of Blue Calico. Supported by Nantong Municipal Government, the Gallery is now also a famous tourism spot in Nantong city.
