These cards were published in April 2007 and since then - according to Nichiyu Gangu, the Japanese distributor - they are the second best selling cards in Japan after the Rider-Waite cards. Traditional Tarot systems are based on either the Marseilles or the newer Rider-Waite systems, but the Tarot of the Revelation is based on a much older system - the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, and this is the reason for their popularity. The Japanese market for esoteric items such as the Tarot is very small, but present sales are roughly $1,000pm. It is estimated that the European market would be 5 times this number and the US market 8 times, based on sales of esoteric literature. Potential sales for the cards and book - if sold as a set - would be $15-20,000pmThe Tarot of the Revelation comprises 78 cards, with 2 spare cards, and a 16 page instruction leaflet in either Japanese or English.
