Taper Roller bearings have tapered inner and outer ring raceways between which tapered rollers are arranged. This kind of bearings are designed to take combined heavy radial and thrust loads. Since the bearings can only support axial loads in one direction, a second laterally reversed bearing is required for counterstay.
