High-Low thread forming fasteners have a double lead thread one high and one low. The sharp 30 degree thread angle cuts deeper into the material thus reducing the radial stress that would be generated by a conventional 60 degree thread angle form. The smaller minor diameter increases the amount of material in contact with the thread resulting in a stronger fastener with greater pull-out resistance.
