Description
What is Micro Hydro Power energy?
Micro hydro power energy refers to hydro power plant with a power rating of 100kW or less. A 100kW hydro power plant will produce 100 standard units of electricity in one hour. Micro hydro power differ from large hydro power plant since the flows rate of water required are much smaller than big hydro power plant.
Micro hydro power are very popular in some less-developed countries for a number of years enabling rural communities to enjoy the benefits of electrification in areas with hydro power potential but without to a grid line. With these new technology, less stringent regulation of grid-connected micro hydro generators and therefore these small hydro turbines are specially designed for these people for cheaper electricity.
Micro Hydro Turbine is widely used in hydro power plants with the high head from 2m to 200m.Design water flow from 0.1m3/S to 3m3/S. Runner diameter from 0.8cm to 1meter. Capacity from 5KW to 100KW for one single turbine.
