Lift-away hatch covers are mostly used on container vessels to cover the weather deck opening. Covers are carrying containers which are loaded on the panels. In some applications, mainly in general cargo vessels, lift-away hatch covers are used to divide cargo holds in vertical direction. In this case, covers are forming a so called tween deck. Lift-away hatch covers can be divided into two categories: single-panel and multi-panel cover.
