As one of advanced rapid prototype service china suppliers, SLA Prototype an additive manufacturing process that uses ultraviolet curable photopolymer resin and a focused ultraviolet light to build the part one layer at a time. After the parts are produced there are steps on the parts that we need to polish smooth. At RPP we mainly use the SLA Rapid Prototype process to create masters for vacuum casting and very complex parts.

3D Printing

Similar to the SLA Prototypes process except the build platform does usually move in the Z direction. The printer head moves and builds the part 1 layer at a time.

SLS (‘Selective Laser Sintering’)

Another additive manufacturing process that uses a laser to fuse plastic, ceramic or glass together one layer at a time. The advantage of the SLS Prototypes over SLA Prototypes is that there are relatively large variety of materials available such as nylon (with fillers) and polystyrene to produce stronger more representative of the final production parts. SLS  Prototypes can be a great way to produce strong complex shapes that would normally need to be joined using the CNC Machinig process (e.g. HVAC parts).

Advantages:

• High precision SLA masters for silicone molds. Tolerances of +/-0.1 mm or less possible
• Low labor requirement so can lead times can very fast. Lead times as short as 1 day until ready to ship (depending on the finish requirements)
• Complex parts can be produced that are not possible to machine without joining
• Wide range of resins available
