Water Soluble Carboxymethyl Guar Gum HS 13023200 Industrial Guar Thickener
Quick Detail:
1. Carboxymethyl guar gum is an anionic carboxymethyl guar modified from guar gum.
2. Carboxymethyl guar is used as a fracturing fluid in the recovery of oil and gas.
Description:
1. Carboxymethyl guar is a self-hydrating polymer; therefore, no external buffer systems are
required to control viscosity development. This polymer is self-hydrating and yields a pH of
5-6 in 2% KCl water. It exhibits very good hydration in cold water (40° F) as well as warmer water
(80° F or higher) and is somewhat sensitive to alcohols and monovalent salts.
2. Viscosity build over time is dependent on pH, shear rates, and temperature.
Applications:
1. Put Carboxymethyl guar gum into the water with rapid agitation, adding at the point of greatest
agitation. Viscosity will develop without adjusting solution Ph value.
2. When crosslinking the carboxyl group, an aluminum complexing agent is recommended. It exhibits
excellent carrying capacity to support sand or other proppants to be placed in the fractured area.
