Characteristics: uniform fiber dispersion, smooth surface, soft hanf-feeling, low binder content, fast resin impregnation and mould obedience. They fall into two categories: wrap type CB and hand lay-up type SB. CB mat is suitable for wrapping FRP pipes and vessels because it is capable of significantly improving the performances of surface layer to realize longer lifetime and resistance against corrosion, leakage and compression. SB mat is suitable for moulds with sophisticated contours while it is characterized by its good mould obedience and fast resin penetration, being capable of covering up the texture of underlayer to create high gloss surface. CB and SB are also applicable to other FRP moulding processes such as press moulding, centrufugal rotating moulding, etc.
