The red and white color of discolored birch veneer make it one of the more attractive hardwood veneers. The better logs display a uniform cathedral crown with clean grain. The annual growth rings are often lightly defined and give the veneer a unobvious look.  In veneers, the color and structure of discolored birch veneer with cheaper cost is very similar to oliver ash veneer.
