Green Silicon Carbide is produced basically in the same manner as black silicon carbide in a electric-resistant type of furnance with petroleum coke, quartz sand and other materials. Its crystallization has greater purity and higher hardness than black silicon carbide. Green silicon carbide is suitable for processing hard metal alloys and nonmetallic materials that are hard and brittle such as jewels, optical glass and ceramics. Its sharp cutting characteristics also make it useful for soft materials such as copper, brass, aluminium, and magnesium. Super micropowder can also be used as ceramic material.
