Description:
Carburetant of high quality is graphitized one (Under the high temperature, the arrangement of carbon atom shows microscopic sates of graphite), that is, the Graphite Carburetant. The graphitization can reduce the impurities of carburetant, improve the carbon content and reduce the sulfur in the carburetant. Carburetant is the additional additive to increase carbon content in steelmaking, foundry, iron casting and smelting etc. Carburetant of high quality is the essential supplementary additive in producing quality steel.
From the raw materials of producing carburetant, it is classified as follows:
1. Artificial graphite – the best carburetant, but the price is very high. It should be the first choice in smelting of nodular cast iron to improve the quality of cast iron.
2. Natural graphite – usually do not used as carburetant due to impurity and high cost.
3. Coke and anthracite – seldom used due to high content of ash and volatile components.
4. Petroleum coke – widely used in steelmaking, foundry, iron casting and smelting etc.
