Uniaxial plastic geogrids are a kind of high strength geosynthetics which take high molecular polymer as main raw material, and add the additives of anti-ultraviolet radition and anti-aging; Then through directional stretch, original scattered chain molecule is realigned at linear state. According to physical characteristics of high molecular polymer, under the condition of certain temperature control, plastic geogrids are stretched at longitudinal direction, so they have high tensile strength at this direction. Their tensile strength is 100-200 Mpa and elongation is only 4-10%, which nearly approach the level of carbon steel and they have much advantage over traditional and present reinforcement materials. So they are a quite ideal geosynthetics for strengthening civil engineering and reinforcing road base.
Materials and corresponding specification:
1) High Density Polythene (HDPE): TGDG25, TGDG35, TGDG50, TGDG80, TGDG110, TGDG120, TGDG130, TGDG140, TGDG150, TGDG160, TGDG180.
2) Polypropylene (PP): TGDG25, TGDG35, TGDG50, TGDG80, TGDG110, TGDG130, TGDG150, TGDG160, TGDG180, TGDG200, TGDG220, TGDG260.
Applications:
1) Strengthen soft foundation: The geogrids can quickly improve foundation bearing capacity, control the subsiding degree, and their lateral confinement to roadbase can distribute the load to the broader bottom roadbase, which will reduce the thickness of roadbase, reduce project cost, shorten the time of completing the project and lengthen the service life.
2) Reinforce the pitch or cement pavement: Geogrids are laid on the bottom of the pitch or cement pavement, which will reduce the depth of ruts, lengthen the service life and reduce the thickness of the pitch or cement pavement to cut construction cost.
3) Strengthen the slopes and retaining walls: Traditional slopes especially the high slopes usually need over fills and the edges of the slopes are not easy to pressure firmly, which will cause the collapse after a long time immersion of rain water. Meanwhile they cover large land area, so do the retaining walls. Adopting the geogrids to strengthen the slopes and retaining walls will reduce a half of the land area, lengthen the service life and cut the construction cost by 20-50%.
4) Strengthen the embankment: Adopting the geogrids and stone cages will prevent the embankment from collapsing by seawater flush. Stone cages has permeability, which decrease the beat by sea waves, lengthen the service life of embankment, save the manpower and materials, shorten the time of completing the project.
5) Dispose rubbish bury yard: Disposing rubbish bury yard with the geogrids and other geosynthetics can effectively solve the problems such as uneven subsiding of foundation, drainage of poisonous gases, etc, and also improve storage capacity to its utmost limit.
6) Resistance to low temperature (special application): Resistancing to low temperature geogrids of Teamgo company are repeated cold-hot cycle from -45 degree centigrade to 50 degree centigrade for 200 times, and their vorious performance index all meet the target requirements. Moreover they had passed the test of Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and the geogrids are applicable to unfavorable geology such as frozen earth of North with little ice, abundant ice and high assay ice, etc.
