CERAMIC (SILICON NITRIDE) BALLS
The advantages of ceramic balls have been well documented. These include:

• lower heat build-up during running
• lower weight, approximately 40% of steel balls
• very high load-carrying capacity
• extremely high speed rates possible
• operating temperatures up to 800ºC
• can be used in corrosive environments
• absolute minimum galling and cold-welding
• higher modules of elasticity - increased stiffness
• long life even with insufficient lubrication
• less bearing operating noise
• low inertia forces

The typical size range for various grades of ceramic balls is 1/16" to 5/8" in diameter. Both inch and metric sizes are available. Other sizes and grades will be quoted upon request. Balls are manufactured according to ABMA Standard 10.
