OTAM's two bearing unita were originally developed for bearing arrengements used in industrial fans with overhung impellers, but they cam be applied in other equipments with similar assembly. The bearing housings are made in one piece of nodular cast iron, with two perfectly concentric bearing seatings. The concentricity allows the use of the rigid bearings, and guarantees running accuracy, with smooth running.
Three types of bearing arrangements are offered:
1) Bearing unit MM series 26.2XX supplied with 2 deep groove ball bearings.
2) Bearing unit MM series 62.2XX supplied with 1 deep groove ball bearing and 1 cylindrical roller bearing.
3) Bearing unit MM series 72.2XX supplied with 1 cylindrical roller bearing and 1 pair of angular contact ball bearings.
The bearing units are manufactured in two shafts versions: short /C and long /L. It is also available bearing units for vertical axis operation under the designation MMF.
The MM bearing unist are attached to the support surface by four bolts. The side covers are attached to the housing also by bolts. The bearing units are supplied complete with: housing, covers, bearings, grease, seals, grease valves, shaft, two lubrication points and grease drain. The shaft is made of SAE 1045 steel, and has a keyway and a threaded hole on both ends.
