Design

The Kadant Web Systems SuperGlidet Bearing incorporates both a "split housing" and a "split journal block assembly." This design allows removal of the top section of the housing and journal block without disturbing the position of the bottom section of the housing. Thus it is possible to replace worn or damaged cam followers "on machine" without realignment of the doctor. A further enhancement of the new bearing is the development of the "split wiper seal" at each side of the housing.

First Time Installation Made Easy

In most "new doctor" applications it is possible to install the doctor bearings the first time without disassembly. In such cases, the journals should be brush coated with Mobilith SHC PM high temperature grease and slipped onto the journals to the desired position. All the bolts and screws have been properly torqued and no additional work is required.
