Spherical plain bearing is a special structure of the sliding bearing. Its structure is simpler than the roller bearing and it can withstand heavy load. According to their different types and structures, it can bear either radial load or axial load. Some also can bear both.

Spherical plain bearings are generally used for slower swing movement (ie, angular motion). Because of the spherical shape, the range can also be used in aligning movement.
