The adapter sleeves have slotted design and an external taper. They are usually not surface treated but oiled and are supplied with a lock nut and a locking device. They have an oil duct, distribution groove, and a threaded side.  For stepped shafts, they have two supply ducts and distribution grooves on the outer surface.
