Compared to double-row taper roller bearings, they can carry heavier load, but with slightly slower rotational speed. Applications of these bearings can be found in the heavy machines such as the rolling mills.

Normally these taper roller bearings use pressed basket-shaped cages of steel sheet. But for cages with greater mechined dimension, cages are also used.

>>Permissible Angular Misalignment for Taper Roller Bearing

Usually for taper roller bearings there should be no misalignment between the shaft and the housing bore. When there is misalignment, the angle should be under no cirdumstances be greater than 2′.

>>Clearance for Taper Roller Bearing

Single-row taper roller bearings have clearance only when they are mounted, and the clearance can be defined only when another bearing is located next to it in the opposite direction after turning. For double-row and four-row taper roller bearings the clearance can be provided according to the requirements and relative standards.
