2 quality: when casting high-chromium iron carbide roll, for its casting characteristics, its wear-resistant phase grain turns out to be coarse and larger, but the grain of overlaying welding unit is small and orderly distribution, which is more favorable to improve wear resistance.

3 cost ; the cost of manufacturing a composite grinding roll is lower than the cost of casting a grinding roll/grinder.

4 life-time: for different distribution of the carbide in the matrix, the operational life of casted grinding roll/grinder is much lower than overlaying welding composite grinding roll. The life of overlaying welding composite grinding roll is 1.5 to 1.8 times longer than that of the casted grinding roll/grinder.

Composite grinding roller is a new and scientific method. With a high-hardness and wear resistant layer on the surface of basal body, the basal body provides the needed strength, tenacity, plasticity, etc against external force. The wear resistant layer built up on surface can meet the requirement of wear resistance under particular working condition.

Being different from traditional high chrome cast iron, this method consists of two steps. First, we use ZG25/35 materiala to cast the grinding roll/grinder. Put apart 30%-50% of the surface for wear resistant overlaying welding layer in accordance with the design. Second, surface-melt wear resistant layer of composite carbide on grinding roll/grinder according to the design.
