Subject to the structure, we have single direction thrust ball bearings and double-direction thrust ball bearings. For the single direction thrust ball bearings, they can carry axial load only in one direction, while for double-direction thrust ball bearings, they can carry axial load only in two directions. However, both of the two kinds of bearings can not carry radial load and its speed ratings are very low.
Thrust roller/ball bearings are mainly used in automobile and machine tool spindles
