These chains are generally used in work machines to convey the power from one gear to another (such as grader, scoop, etc.). Generally, in the first move and while working the chain may take a blowing load. To prevent the blowing load from giving damage to the chain, the chain links are produced bent. In a blowing load, the chain links arch and get longer from its bent points, therefore the blowing load doesn't harm the chain's parts.
