Standard HOBAS pipes are manufactured according to the following nominal diameters, pressures and stiffness. Standard section length is 6m, although shorter pipes are available.
Nominal Pressure Classes PN
The pipes are classified in the following nominal pressure classes (PN): 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25. The PN number corresponds to the nominal working pressure of the pipe in bars.
Nominal diameter DN
The pipes are classified in the following nominal diameter(DN): 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200, 1400, 1500, 1600, 1800, 2000.
Nominal stiffness SN
HOBAS pipes are normally made in stiffness classes: SN2500, SN5000, SN10000, above SN10000.
Jacking pipes and Relining pipes
HOBAS CC-GRP Jacking Pipe Systems show high compressive strength and consistent superior quality. Due to the smooth, non-absorbing exterior surface, tight OD tolerances and lighter weight construction, HOBAS CC-GRP Jacking Pipe Systems experience the lowest jacking loads in the industry. The lathe cut square ends and natural material resiliency, mean HOBAS Pipes transfer jacking loads with better distribution, and more forgiveness, than any other sewer product, thereby resulting in the highest reliability available. HOBAS Jacking Pipe Systems are available from HOBAS China factory in a wide diameter range.
Relining
When spot repairs of old pipe lines, mainly sewers, are no longer viable, local authorities are faced with the problem of rehabilitating or replacing pipelines in the course of time. Replacement has the disadvantage of being very costly and disruptive to urban areas where the largest sewer networks are located.
The obvious answer is then rehabilitation, which can take the form of relining. HOBAS pipes are inserted in the existing pipeline with grout cementing them in place. In view of the savings municipal authorities are now allocating as much as 50% of budgets to rehabilitation. HOBAS CC-GRP Products are ideal for this application being lightweight, corrosion resistant, quality-assured, easily jointed and rigid to resist grouting forces.
Pipe Systems
HOBAS does not only provide pipes. It is the main supplier for pipe systems. HOBAS offers customized solutions ranging from pipes, FWC coupling joints, mechanical coupling, bends, fiberglass reducers, tees, fixed collar flange connectors, connections and standard manhole.
Couplings
HOBAS sealtight Couplings are produced using a winding process. To achieve the same quality standard as the Pipes, they incorporate a full width EPDM seal (gasket). The couplings are manufactured on a computerized machine, which first places the prefabricated EPDM gasket on a steel mold and then winds glass roving pre-saturated in polyester resin round it.
At the same time cut roving is sprinkled on to the coupling to reinforce the axial direction. After the laminate is in place, the resin is polymerized by applying heat.
Fittings
HOBAS GRP Fittings can be produced in both standard and non-standard forms to customer specifications and are available for non-pressure and pressure applications. Protected ductile iron, coated steel or stainless steel fittings are compatible and may be used with all classes of GRP Pipes. N. B. Diameters up to and including DN 600 are also compatible with ductile iron Pipes. HOBAS Fittings can be laminated for connecting to all other piping materials.
The range of fittings includes: Bends - to any specified angle, Tapers - concentric and level invert, Tees and branches - equal and unequal, square or angled, Bellmouths - integral or flanged.
