- Oil Free Bearings provide an ideal solution for extreme operating conditions.
- The product offers the best balance in terms of a low coefficient of friction and wear rate and a low cost
- Further, these bearings can be used in a wide variety of applications.
Properties include:
- High wear resistance for continuous use in dry conditions up to 35 N/mm2 at 1 m/s without any noticeable wear traces
- Resistant to extreme temperatures oil-free bearings can be used both at very low temperatures (-260oC) and in presence of heat (+260oC) prohibitive conditions for normal lubricants
- Impervious to corrosive environments in highly corrosive environmental conditions, in presence of low lubricating fluids or in case of humidity, oil-free bearings are the ideal solution
- Effective for start and stop motions. PTFE is the only material which exhibits such a minimal variance between its static and dynamic coefficients of friction. In situations of start/stop motion, the sliding surfaces could come in direct contact because of interruption of the lubricant film. It is therefore important that at the subsequent restart of the motion the bearing material is able to operate dry, without excessive wear or friction.
- Effective for space and weight saving with respect to the metallic solutions as well as in the case of ball or roller bearings, oil free bearings offer a considerable reduction of the radial space required and the weight of material needed.
