This apparatus is applied to verify the ability of bogie frames (for Locomotives, Metros, Railbus, and etc) to withstand loads occurring during service, according to UIC 515-4 and UIC 615-4 standards.

 The static tests are sub-divided into four groups:

- Static tests under exceptional loads

- Static tests to simulate the main forces sustained in service.

- Static tests to simulate particular forces sustained in service.

- Fatigue tests intended to verify the endurance strength of the bogie frame and detect any hidden weak points and to envaluate the safety margin.
