Modern eletric high-speed railway with the high locomotive power, and fast operation speed , (up to 350 km / h or higher),always apply AC power supply. The transformer which supplys power for the railway traction lines is called traction transformers.

Traction transformer’s load is a kind of changable single-phase load, to meet the load characteristic, traction transformers are designed to be the special transformers,which change two single-phase to three-phase,then these two single phase can supply power for Uplink and downlink locomotive separately,so that keep the balance for grid’s three-phase power system.

Besides with the track circuit and high-speed harmonic load,the current which flowing through the track and land will produce alternating magnetic field in the near space,thus cause interference for communication.

To decrease the interference to a minimum extend,it always apply two kinds of power supply:one for Booster-Transformer power supply mode,and another for Auto-Transformer power supply mode.
