JQA’s high-speed screw-loosening test demonstrated that our washers hold their grip for up to 6 minutes and 47 seconds of vibration (with M10 materials).

(Left) Using an ordinary flat washer
Per the diagram above, washer side B receives the majority of its force from two to three points.
As a result, the force acting on the washer is only P3.

(Right) Using an octagonal lock washer
The diagonal shape of the octagonal washer acts on points P1 and P2 of the screw. The combined force of internal points P1 and P2 plus the external force, P3, creates an extremely tight and solid fit. The weight is dispersed as well, so it won’t make an imprint.
