Eaton has combined our expertise in valve train technology and hydraulic solenoid technology to create a unique cylinder deactivation system that enables an engine to operate on half of its cylinders when full power is not needed, improving efficiency and fuel mileage significantly. This system is standard on all GM 5.3 liter V8 engines.
