Steel channel is the long bar steel with the cone-shaped section. Its specification 120 x 53 x 5 means that its height is 120mm, width of 53 mm, and thickness of 5mm. Or we call it 12# steel channel. If there are a number of steel channels with the same height, but their width and thickness are different, then they can be distinguished by marking with 25a#, 25b#, 25c#.

II. Types and specifications:
Steel channels include the ordinary one and light one. The specification of the hot-rolled ordinary steel channel is 5 - 40#, which can be changed into 6.5 - 30# upon the agreement by both parties.

III. Major uses:
Steel channels are mainly used in building structures, vehicle manufacturing and other industrial structures. They are also used with I-shaped steel.
