DMP15 resin is made fromvinyl chloride andvinyl isobutyl etherthrough copolymerization, theresin possesses good adhesive property because of the vinylisobutyl ether component.DMP15 has good compatibility with vinylchloride copolymers, unsaturated polyester resins, nadone resinsetc. There are no ester bonds in the molecular structure, so DMP15is stable in acidic or alkaline condition, meanwhile, there are nodouble bonds in its structure, it can`t be easily oxidized either,even it is put in bad conditions outdoors, it can still keep itscorrosion resistance for a very long period. DMP15 in coatings cancause the film of coating to be very flexible
Ⅳ) Solubility
DMP series of vinyl chloride-ether resinsare easily soluble in the following solvents, such as aromatichydrocarbons, chlorohydrocarbons, esters, ketones, glycol etheracetate and some alcohol ether solvents. DMP resins have especiallyexcellent solubility in aromatic hydrocarbons, they can dissolve in20% toluene (xylene) solvent at normal temperature.
Ⅴ)Compatibility & Miscibility
DMP resins are miscible or partlymiscible with the following copolymers, such as vinyl chloridecopolymers, polyacrylates, unsaturated polyester resins, aldehyderesins, petroleum resins, natural resins, alkyd resins modifiedthrough oil and aliphatic acid, dry oil, tar oil and asphaltetc.
Ⅵ)Application
DMP15 resin is suited forthick-paste coatings and inorganic substrate coatings. Because ofexcellent acid and alkali resistance, DMP15 is extremely suited foralkaline substrates, such as asbestos, concrete, brick and stoneetc. So, it can be applied in swimming pool coatings, constructioncoatings, bridge coatings and road sign coatings etc.
With the rising codes of differentDMP resins, their solid contents are accordingly decreasing.
