pH indicator papers have been on the market for decades and are the standard for many applications.

Features:
1) Resolution is 0.5, 0.3 or even 0.2 pH unit
2) Colours of the individual colour fields cannot run into each other. This allows a more precise comparison the colour scale.
3) The plastic strips protect fingers from contact with the test solution.
