Refined Shellac Wax

Refined Shellac Wax is also known as lac wax, its main componentsare melissic acid and latters compound with melissa acid (ester).It’s divided into a hot ethanol and benzene soluble (includingportions of hot ethanol insoluble); the former takes 80% while thelatter takes 20%. The amount of carbon atoms in shellac wax canreach between 28 to 34 alcohol groups. Shellac is a hard naturalwax that is rare and hard to come by, its hardness is high and hasa high gloss which is sustainable when used with solvents. Itsperformance is better than Brazilian (carnauba) wax and Montan wax.Lac wax has a broad range of application uses for example,electronics, carbon and wax paper, as a glazing agent used in floorwax, industrial applications such as machinery belt wax, as well aspackaging for fruit, sealing, bottles, color crayons, cosmetics,shoe polish and bio-pharmaceutical applications.
