taper roller bearing has the ability to carry combinations oflarge radial and thrust loads or to carry thrust load only. Becauseof the difference between the inner and outer raceway contactangles, there is a force component, which drives the taperedrollers against the guide flange. The relatively large slidingfriction generated at this flange makes this bearing typicallyunsuitable for high-speed applications without specialconsideration to coolant/lubricant.
