     The plate type heat exchanger is the mosteconomical and efficient type of heat exchanger on the market withits low cost, flexibility, easy maintenance, and high thermalefficiency. Plate heat exchanger consists of a number of gasketedplates which are fixed between a top carrying bar and a lower guidebar. The plates are compressed by means of tie bolts between astationary frame part (the head) and a moveable frame part (thefollower) Fluids enter the plate heat exchanger through frameconnections and are distributed to plates. The flow to alternatepassages between the plates is controlled by alternating theplacement of gaskets. These are available in single and multi-passunits, depending upon the application.
