| Chemical Property: | Insoluble in water, soluble in acid and alkali, and slowlysoluble in acetic acid and ammonia water. Strong reducibility,producing hydrogen when reacting with acid and alkali. Caking whenaffected by damp, stable in dry air, producing white subcarbonatewhich covers the surface in damp air. When burning in the air, itproduces blue-green flame, and produces zinc oxide. Zinc powderwith high purity reacts slowly with sulfuric acid and nitric acid,and the reaction speeds up when it contains other metals such assteel, tin and lead. |

| Chemical industry production: It can be applied as reducingagent in the production of sodium hydrosulfite, lithopone,rongalite (sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate) and dye intermediate.The dosage is big and the mean particle size is 10-12μm, slightlybigger than that of zinc powder for coatings. | ||||||
| Zinc anticorrosive paint production: Theanticorrosion of steel components is the main application ofmetallic zinc, and ways of coating include hot dip, electroplating,thermal spraying, zinc-rich coatings and powder plating, of whichhot dip is the main way. Zinc-rich coatings are mainly applied forlarge components for which hot dip and electroplating are notsuitable, such as large outdoor steel structures (oceaneering,bridges, pipelines, highway guardrails, etc.), ships andcontainers. Zinc-rich coatings can be divided into organiczinc-rich coatings and inorganic zinc-rich coatings based on thedifference of film forming material. Organic zinc-rich coatingsusually take epoxy ester, epoxy resin, chlorinated rubber, vinylresin and polyurethane resin as the film forming material and thecontent of zinc powder in dry film reaches up to 85% -92%.Inorganic zinc-rich paints take water lithium silicate, waterpotassium silicate, ethyl orthosilicate or cement paste asmaterial, and the content of zinc powder in dry film reaches 92%.The mean particle size of zinc powders for coatings purposeconsists of two specifications: 2-3μm and 5-7μm. The powders aredistributed in narrow fraction and they have gooddispersibility. | ||||||
