H13 Hot WorkTool Steel is a versatile chromium-molybdenum hotwork steel.
it widely used in hot work and cold work toolingapplications.It resists thermal fatigue cracking which occurs as a result ofcyclic heating and cooling
cycles in hot work tooling applications.
Its excellent combination of high toughness and resistance tothermal fatigue cracking
(also known as heat checking) H13 is used for more hot work toolingapplications than any other tool steel.
With good stability in heat treatment, H13 is also used in avariety of cold work tooling
applications. In these applications, H13 provides betterhardenability (through hardening in large section thicknesses) andbetter wear resistance than common alloy steels.
Also available as Electro-Slag-Remelted (ESR) products as well. Theremelting
processes provide improved chemical homogeneity, refinement ofcarbide size.
APPLICATIONS: Inserts, cores, and cavities for die casting dies,die casting shot sleeves, hot forging dies, extrusion dies, andplastic mold cavities and components that require high toughnessand excellent polishability.
