Brief info
Vietnam is the best source of Groundnut kernel in Asean region. Thegovernment has established main growing regions in Phu Tho, Nghe Anprovinces, Da Nang, Binh Duong. Peanut from the Centre and theSouth of Vietnam is rather good at its sight but peanut from theNorth is preferred because of its better quality. Groundnut treegrown all over the country, but mainly gather northern deltaprovinces such as Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho Yearlyoutput is approximately 100.000 MT.
There are two key crops of year: from March to May, it is harvestedin southern provinces and almost quantity being grade 2 (smallsize); from June to Sep, farmers harvest at northern area, qualityof the north is preferred with bigger size (grade 1 and supergrade) as well as better quality. Vietnam usually sources thisproduce to South East Asia (Indonesia, Philippine, Malaysia)countries because of geographical distance within Asean. This isalso because raw Groundnut Kernels cannot be stored in very longtime.
Groundnut kernel is particularly difficult to keep in goodcondition for long time. With strong breatheable power, the nut iseasy to get mould and to be destroyed.
Some important factors make groundnut kernel fail
- High moisture when loading the goods to bags.
- Imperfect seeds are higher than allowed.
- Delivery under disadvantage whether (rain)
- Delivered containers are not favorable (DC container instead ofrefrigerator container to reduce cost)
- Leave the goods too long at deport in containercondition
