Diesel Fuel Injection Pump Parts
An Injection Pump is the device that pumps fuel intothe cylinders of a diesel engine. Traditionally, the pump isdriven indirectly from the crankshaft by gears, chains ora toothed belt (often the timing belt) that also drivesthe camshaft. It rotates at half crankshaft speed in aconventional four-stroke engine. Its timing is such that thefuel is injected only very slightly before top deadcentre of that cylinder''s compression stroke. It is alsocommon for the pump belt on gasoline engines to be driven directlyfrom the camshaft.
