Product Details:TheADuM1201 is a dual-channel, digital isolator with 1/1 channeldirectionality based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler®technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformertechnologies, these isolation components provide outstandingperformance characteristics superior to alternatives, such asoptocouplers. By avoiding the use of LEDs and photodiodes, iCoupler devices remove thedesign difficulties commonly associated with optocouplers. Thetypical optocoupler concerns regarding uncertain current transferratios, nonlinear transfer functions, and temperature and lifetimeeffects are eliminated with the simple iCoupler digital interfacesand stable performance char-acteristics. The need for externaldrivers and other discrete components is eliminated withthese iCoupler products.Further-more, iCoupler devices consumeone-tenth to one-sixth the power of optocouplers at comparablesignal data rates. The ADuM120x product family of isolators provides two independentisolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and datarates (see the Ordering Guide). Both parts operate with the supplyvoltage on either side ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, providingcompatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling avoltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier. Inaddition, the ADuM120x provide low pulse width distortion (<3 nsfor CR grade) and tight channel-to-channel matching (<3 ns forCR grade). Unlike other optocoupler alternatives, the ADuM120xisolators have a patented refresh feature that ensures dccorrectness in the absence of input logic transitions and duringpower-up/power-down conditions.
