All the ballistic insertsused in the MK5 EOD Bomb Disposal Suit are made ofwaterproof-treated Kevlar HT which are enclosed in a specialwater-resistant and anti-ultraviolet membrane. The outer cover ismade of flame-retardant NOMEX III. In hot and humid countries theMK5 EOD Bomb Disposal Suit can be supplied inconjunction with the SDMS Cooling Suit.

ARMOURED EODHELMET
The EOD helmet is made of aGRP skin with an elastomeric aramid core and is fully adjustable tovarious sizes for perfect fit by means of the three pointsuspension and the removable spacer pads that Velcro to the inside.The facility for a communication set consisting of a headphone andmicrophone, plus extension lead for attachment to any VHF radiotransceiver, can be incorporated if required. An alternativecommunications system comprising a headset, microphone, 100 metresof cable and amplifier, for communication between the operator andhis controller, can also be supplied. Also incorporated in thehelmet is an air ventilation system which directs the flow offorced fresh air over the top of the helmet liner, across the visorand down over the operator''s face ensuring efficient demisting andclear view. The addition of an anti-blast neck-guard to the bottomfront of the Helmet closes any possible frontal gap between Helmetand Collar.
JACKET
The Jacket is along-sleeved, side opening design filled with flexible Kevlararmour. Provision is made on the front for the attachment of rigidchest and groin blast plates by means of integral pockets withwebbing securing straps. The high collar provides overlapprotection to the helmet, visor and neck-guard. Immediate removalof the Jacket is achieved by use of the quick-release strapsattached to the side and shoulder.
TROUSERS
The Trousers have fullyadjustable supporting braces and wide Velcro waistband catering forsmall, medium and large sizes. Affixed to the front of the trousersis a flexible groin protector retained in position by Velcro andelastic. At the rear of the legs a full length Velcro strip is usedin conjunction with the retaining straps to fix the articulatedflexible armour in position.
