Melting Point and Solubility :     When crystallized from water , it contains 6 to 8 mol H2O, mp 83°C.After drying at 110°C to constant weight, it contains 2 mol H2O, mp171°C.  Sol in methanol, alcohol, acetone, warm acetic acid,dil alkali and hot water. One gram dissolves in 1000ml water at40°C.  At 75°C one gram dissolves in 10ml water. Insol in coldwater,   petroleum ether, ether, benzene and chloroform.
