roller electric conveyor are, as their title suggests, powered via a shaftbeneath the rollers. These roller electricconveyor aresuitable for light applications up to 20 kg such as cardboard boxesand tote boxes.
A single shaft runs below the rollers running the length ofrollertrack conveyor On the shaft there are a series ofspools; one spool for each roller. A rubber o-ring runs from aspool on the powered shaft to each roller. When the shaft ispowered the rubber o-ring acts as a chain between the spool and theroller making the roller rotate. The rotating of the rollers pushesthe product along the conveyor. The shaft is usually driven by anelectrical motor, which is generally controlled by the anelectronic PLC. A PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)electronically controls how specific sections of roller trackconveyor system interact with theproducts being conveyed.

A disadvantage of the roller electricconveyor is thatit can only be used to convey certain produce. Items conveyed haveto be of adequate size and shape so that they cannot fall betweenthe moving rollers. If the product being conveyed is of varyingsize, the conveyor belt system is generally used as an alternativeoption.
