electrode-less electromagnetic inductionlights
Principle
ZK induction lighting system was developed specifically for applications, where relamping is associated with
extremely high levels of complexity and cost. These include, for example, tunnel lighting or the lighting in industrial buildings.
The extremely long system lifetime of 60,000 hours (failure rate < 12 percent) provides approx. seven years'' worth of
permanent lighting. That is some five times longer than conventional fluorescent lamps.
The way it works: the discharge required to produce light does not occur - as with conventional fluorescent lamps -
between two electrodes but without electrodes in a closed "ring" with no beginning or end. The energy is injected
from outside via two ferrite rings, using magnetic fields. Thus the lamp contains no wearandtear parts. The unique
ZK principle furthermore produces quantities of light, which conventional fluorescent lamps cannot match.
Advantages
- Extremely long life
- Highly Efficient and Energy Saving
- Instant starting, no Cold-Start
- Bright, white light (CRI >= 80)
- Improved visibility and security
- No glare and light pollution
- Environmentally friendly
- Green Light Source
Applications
Induction lights offer superior energy efficiency and are longer lasting than any other bulb. With a rated performance
of 100, 000 hours, induction lights are idea for applications where bulb changes are difficult. Induction lights provide
excellent light quality and are among the most efficient bulbs available. Induction lights are suitable in a wide range
of applications, including:
- Parking Garage Lighting
- Retail Store Lights
- Office Building Lighting
- Stadium Lights
- Street & area lighting
- Warehouses, industrial buildings
- Cafeterias, super markets
- High-ceiling applications
- Architectural, landscape lighting
- Freezers, cold storage
Benefits
- Extremely long system life: 60,000 hours
- High luminous flux versions: 6,500 lm, 8, 000 lm, 12, 000 lm
- Flicker-free instant start
- High luminous efficacy: > 80 lm/W
- Very good light quality: color rendering Ra > 80
- High luminious flux over a wide temperature range, thanks to amalgam technology
- Low operating frequency: 250 kHz
- Particularly suitable for shallow luminaires
- Low luminous flux loss (30 % after 60,0000 h)
- Guaranteed start-up at low temperatures as low as –40 °C
- Direct current (DC) operation possible
