Compact high-pressure metal halide lamps designed for optimum lightcollection efficiency.They combine high luminous efficacy with acompact arc and excellent colour characteristics.
MSD lamps can be operated on an electronic power supply as well ason a magnetic ballast-ignitor combination.
Althoughcompletely safe to handle when cold, these lamps must only beoperated in closed luminaires in view of their high internalworking pressure.
Thelamps radiate a considerable amount of ultraviolet;the luminairelenses must block this, and no radiation must be spilled throughventilation slots.
MSDlamps have a universal burning position.
