Long projection toothlengths are used on high offset cones to provide the greatestpenetrations rates possible. Wear resistance hard facing is used tocontrol tooth wear. On the softest bit types this hard facingcompletely covers the bit teeth.
Medium hard formations toothbits:
The medium hard formation tooth bits are used todrill high compressive strength, medium hard formations. Shootprojection teeth with reduced crest length are used in this seriesof bit designs. Durable hard facing is applied to reduce toothwear.
