The ASB-12M has been developed asan upgrade model from the entry level ASB-50MB,
which has sold more than 1, 700units and remains in our line-up as one of our bestsellers.
It is a compact one-stepinjection stretch blow molding machine with improved jarcapability
and advanced energyefficiency.
Wider Range of MoldedContainers
The ASB-12M can mold jars with necksup to φ83mm thread diameter (typically up to 2 liters). Applications includemany cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food jars such as hand-cream,pill, peanut butter etc. Regular bottles of up to 2.5L can also bemolded. In the smaller neck sizes, the productivity has also increased by33% for φ38mm neck and 66%for φ32mm neck, compared with the ASB-50MB. Not only PET, but various kind of plasticsmaterial such as PP and PC can easily be molded. This level of compactness together with high versatility and wider variety of neck size and cavitation is a first in this class of machine.

Besides energy reduction, noiseand vibration are also dramatically reduced; now being on a similar level with ASB’sall electric molding machine,the ASB-15N/10E. Smoother operation also results in greaterdurability and easier maintenancecompared with the existing hydraulically operated models.
Improved EnergyEfficiency
The ASB-12M utilizes two servodriven hydraulic pumps which can adapt their speed and outputprecisely to the required demand throughout the entire cycle of themachine thereby reducing actual energy consumption by about40%*1 compared with the ASB-50MBv3. In tests, actualpower consumption was measured at
approx. 25% of the rated power.

Ideal for Low-volumeHigh-mix Production
The ASB-12M can produce a huge variety of high-quality containers.It is small enough to be used as a laboratory testing machine whilealso having the capability to offer serious production output. Themolds are light and simple meaning that mold changes can beperformed without any special lifting equipment resulting in quickand easy mold changeovers.
Workability
Design changes in the controlpanel ensure easier mold change and maintenance over previousmodels.
Existing Machine’s Moldcan be Mounted
Molds made for the existingASB-12N/10 and ASB-50MBv3 can be converted to mount on the ASB-12M.*2 *3*4 This enables easy upgrade path for ASB’s customers who are already usingthese existing machines.
*2: For ASB-50MB molds the conversion may be complex so a newpurpose made ASB-12M mold may be more economic.
*3: Molds for ASB-12M cannot be mounted on the other machines.
