Richester Foods (Pty) Ltd, owned by Dr Hussein Cassim &
Mariam Cassim, was formed in November 2004, and was previously
known as Kwality Biscuits. In November 2004 Kwality Biscuits, the
second largest biscuit manufacturing company in South Africa at the
time, with over 400 employees and 20% market share, was sold to
Bokomo Foods, a division of Pioneer Foods, which is currently the
largest food group in South Africa.
In December 2004, Kwality Biscuits changed its company name to
Richester Foods and started a business of importing and
distributing sweets, confectionary and food products, due to the
already well established infra structure of sales, marketing and a
strong customer base to sell these product ranges.
In March 2007, Richester Foods opened up its manufacturing
operation, under the name Moneyline 207 (Pty) Ltd, trading as
Richester Industries, and has started manufacturing a full range of
confectionary and sweets under the Richester Brand at its New Head
Office and Factory in Sunderlandridge.
This factory boasts 4 state of the art manufacturing units and is
planning to expand with more production lines in the near future,
with the aim of covering most of the sweet categories.
In a very short space of time, the Richester Group of Companies has
become one the largest importers, distributors and manufacturers of
confectionary products in South Africa. The Richester signature of
unique products, that is always presented in dazzling packaging has
reached neighbourign countries, as well as international markets
such as the UK, UAE and USA.
