A&S Fersa Bearings
The origin of the company dates back to 1968, with the merger of two family-run companies of the sector from Zaragoza, Spain in the 1950s. Two of the key elements of this successful business venture were, the talented and commited workforce and the vision of the shareholders who undertook a solid project of modernization and international expansion. Thus, back in 1997, it was possible to obtain the ISO 9001 quality certification with a view to working towards permanent high levels of quality and the continuous training of the workforce. This ambition would later be illustrated by the award of Aragon’s Business Excellence Prize (1998) for the implementation of the EFQM evaluation system, admission to the 400 Club (1999) and the achievement of the ISO 14001 certification (2002), the Exportation Award (2003) and the ISO/TS 16949 (2004), among others. Fersa today, exports over 95% of its turnover to more than 60 coutries. The new state of the art facility in Plaza Zaragoza, Spain built in 2004, not only includes high-tech European made production machines but also encompases the R&D, testing labs and global logistics center.
